Well if you're considering an evolutionary standpoint based around humanity's evolution, consider that chimps didn't have whiskers. We still have stuff we don't use, like tonsils. But if you wanna consider things animals would lose by actually evolving to anthropomorphism, they'd likely lose their fur, tails, paw-pads, claws, and much to the fandom's dismay, probably no more bulbus glandis.

Some people don't like them. D8 I know a LOT of TLK artists who HATE drawing their lions with whiskers. Even if it is one of the staples of the movies' style!
