Finally got a PS3
So yea, after... IDK how many months. I finally got a PS3 (60GB variant for its backwards compatibility, got it off amazon) and between that and the fact that my monitors been slowly dying out lately...
well I might as well look for a replacement display device. I dont wanna wake up one day to find out my monitor is completely dead and I gotta spend a day without sweet sweet intenret XD. Anyway long story short I found a small LG 24 inch TV 720P that has HDMI with HDCP and PC input (and a few other things with ports and inputs). I guess that'll do.
Anyway... Origonally I was hoping to get a PS4... but the lack of local backwards compatibility really breaks the... feel and the immersion for me. Even if I had the internet speed to use the upcoming streaming feature to play games from older playstation consoles. It just wont feel the same...
And that's why I chose to get a PS3 over a PS4... Plus I wanna wait till they release an updated model of the console first. I cant imagine how a PS4 slim is gunna be like if they ever make one... But I find it hard to believe they are gunna stick with that one model for the next decade.
Anyway yea, I got A LOT of nostalgia ahead of me with some PS1 and PS2 games. My favorite videogame series is between the Spyro and Skylanders series, right behind that being the Crash Bandicoot series... Then I used to play a bit of Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi with my neighbors.
I tested out my PS3 for about 10 minutes just to see if it was working or not through a random composites to VGA converter box I got (seems like the console works well... It seems to heat up quickly but other than that it seems to work). But when I get that thing hooked up. I look forward to console gaming and adding friends PSN and what not.
