Bigglest Little Fur Con 2014 -- A Con Report...
General
I have always enjoyed Northern Nevada, the people, the attitude and the friendly nature of this small city, have always left a measurable impression upon me. Last weekend, I had made the 22 hour drive from Western Washington, along with my friends Digipig and Daemon Inu to attend Biggest Little Fur Con (BLFC) in Reno, for the second year!
As I did last year, I was registration lead, and I was prepared for a busy weekend, coming off of a record setting 705 attendees for a first year, in my wildest imagination, I never anticipated the records that we would break again this year.
Arriving on Wednesday, some local furs were kind enough to put me and my friends up for a night, while we went out and had some of the best sushi I have EVER had this side of the International Date Line.
Thursday: This was set up for the con where I helped with setting up computers and tables and the like, and reg has opened early at about 16:00, and the flood gates of awesome had been flung open wide, as we had processed close to 1,000 registrants prior to closing reg at 12:30 Friday morning!! Awesome!
Friday: We opened at 9am today, where I was kept consistently busy all day, where we had welcomed a few hundred more eager attendees over the course of the day. Around 16:00, I had heard from one of my roommates who had just gotten into town, after driving to Reno from Northern California. After squaring that away, I headed back to registration for a few more hours, and finished my shift at about 19:30, where I had then gone to dinner with my good friend Badphendia from Portland, and about ten of his friends to a local pizza establishment inside the hotel. Good times! Later on that evening, I met up with my friend
tkyote and we hung out for a bit. After ward, I went down and checked out some of the activities going on downstairs, and loved the energy that I was in the air! Good times! After staying down stairs for a short while, I had then gone back up to my room to get some sleep, as it was back to work at 09:00 the next morning. :)
Saturday: The steady flow of attendees kept going through today, as I was kept busy with registration Today I worked until about 18:00, where I then went to dinner with some more friends, and then after dinner, I got into suit for the first time during the con. I mingled down stairs in suit for about 5 hours, getting and giving lots of hugs. I then met up with a Northern California fur for a short while, and we hung out for a bit. Having to work at 10:00 the next morning, I had gone to bed around 03:00.
Sunday: This was the final day of the con, and to my surprise, we were still quite busy with a steady stream of day pass registrations for Sunday. I finished my shift at 17:00 and I went and mingled some and said my good bye's to folks that were leaving to return home on Sunday. I went up to hang out with some more friends for a few hours before heading to dinner with some Portland furs, and then calling it an early night for my 18 hour drive back home on Monday.
Con High lights:
ShadowCheetah What a class act!! A wonderful cat, who had got the art of giving the perfect hug down to a science, and making a powerful first impression with a small note that he had given me that moved me to tears!! You are a classy kitty ShadowCheetah, and I hope our paths cross again at a future convention.
tycoskunk and the entire BLFC Staff: What more can I say other than an AWESOME job from EVERYONE who had staffed this con. There was a reason we broke attendance records, because the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) was working seamlessly and didn't miss a beat the entire weekend.
blazeartic It is always a pleasure to see you hun, and I really enjoy enjoyed hanging out with you all weekend.
Badphendia (sp?) -- It was wonderful hanging out with you throughout the weekend bud. You really made my con a wonderful one, thank you for being awesome!
There are SO many more folks that I want to thank. It is 2am as I write this journal, and brain and paws are starting to have conflicting ideas on whether they want to continue working or not.
Summation: All in all, BLFC takes the top spot as the *BEST* furry convention I have yet attended to date. Great staff, great attendees, great hotel, what more can be said. :)
Thanks to all who made BLFC such a memorable event!
*hugs to all*

*hugs back warmly* I am so glad that you had a wonderful time at BLFC. A positive first con experience is really important, especially when just getting into the fandom. Meeting you both for dinner was definately a con highlight for me. :)
I do aim to stay in touch with you for sure.
