Yesterday's surgery couldn't have gone any better!
I remember being wheeled into the operating room and chatting with the nurses and assistants, and then listening to my heart beat on the machine. I recall no warning that I was going under! Next thing I knew I was awake and ravenous. And I would have loved to pee, but they made me wait. I was ready to go home within 15-20 minutes but yeah, had to wait.
Finally I was allowed to get up and go, and then I got dressed in my PJ's and I got to go home. Another lady who'd had the same procedure earlier in the day was still in recovery when I left. Nurses called me superwoman, but I just wanted to be at home!
I'm astounded how little pain I have. I'm still a little anesthesia woozy and I've been taking a couple pain killers, but I walked around at the farmer's market for an hour and felt fine...and I bought three berry plants. Two currants and a juneberry :D
The Essure sterilization was so much worse than yesterday's procedure in terms of discomfort.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to wish me well. Barring any infection, I hope, HOPE, be back to work on Monday, much sooner than I had thought! Everything the doctor and nurses and other women who've had this done made it seem like I would be in bed for at least 3 days after. *shrug*
Once again
quickxyk has been amazing and taking care of me. My best fiance.

FA+

We've got stuff on the cards about things like this surgery, so. Very, very happy to hear it went so well. May you stay in good health, and best of luck going forwards!
If you don't mind me asking, as somebody that never wants to have kids, ever: what do you think of the Essure procedure? It seems better than tubal ligation in that it doesn't require outright surgery, but I've never talked to anybody who's had it done. It looks nice on paper though...
They actually give you drugs that prevent you from forming memories. That way, if they get the anesthesia wrong and you wake up during the middle of surgery, you won't remember it later.
They didn't tell me this when I had surgery but I found out from my sister-in-law who is an OR nurse.
Also, nothin' better than buying plants while hopped up on painkillers~
Best wishes for a speedy recovery! :)
It was only about an hour and 15 minutes, but I was longer in coming out of it (hearing went last getting knocked out, and was the first to return).
Glad things went well for you.
On the topic of berries, gooseberries and elderberries are also quite delicious (and a bit tart, which is how I like mine).
