Computer: Good News and Bad News

DISCLAIMER:
If the only thing you have to say is to call for my repairman's head, criticize my choices, or e-peen at me about how you would have made better choices regarding what to do in my situation, kindly keep those words to yourself.
The Good news:
I have my computer back and I am back online. I have a new motherboard, a new processor, and a stronger power supply. Internet continues to be good as well so I think I've gotten to the end of the problems on that side of things. My computer boots really quickly now and seems to run very smoothly.
The Bad News:
I am down a graphics card and the audio support on my motherboard appears to be dead. At this point I am not really feeling up to replacing anything as the last repair took practically two weeks as it was. My graphics cards were old and I was considering updating them anyway, so this looks like fate is just hurrying the process up a tad. I have an SLI setup to help me with my multiple monitors and some of the hardcore paces I put my machine through, so I am currently pricing out upgraded graphics cards and will be heading out today to get a soundcard and a graphics card. If I can find one that does SLI/Crossfire support for a reasonable price I will get more than one, otherwise I'm going to have to wait until I have the funds available to get more than one.
Another chink in this is that I /might/ have jury duty tomorrow. My fingers are crossed that my number doesn't come up, but with the luck I've had lately I kind of feel like it's inevitable.
Even if my machine is half crippled, I still intend to be around on Wednesday for the weekly dual stream with Jonas. Many thanks to Foxena for standing in for me last week.
I would also like to apologize in advance if I am curt and snappy for a little while. This whole situation has taxed me and I do not have the patience I should with people right now. Those that know me know that I do not take my bad moods out on people, but I also am having difficulty being patient and anything more than a ball of grump right now.
Hopefully this will be the end of it for awhile though. Now if you will pardon me, the Tigerdirect store is open and my wallet is lining up for a little more abuse.

Do any of your monitors have audio jacks? I know HDMI does audio, so if any of them have it that'll save you a card and some cash...
And unfortunately yes, I do.
I sorry to read, though, that you might end up on Jury Duty. I got called about 2 weeks back, for an upcoming date this month. Problem is, I don't live in that county anymore.
Just hope the paperwork I sent them was looked at. Driving nearly 50 miles into another county, just to rub their nose in it, wouldn't be a good thing.
I hope all is well on the computer front... patiently waiting for your return.
Glad you're getting things back together! Also, I'll say that SLI seems to waffle in-and-out of the usefulness and performance benefit zone, but you should be able to find an affordable, well-performing single card that can handle your games and multiple monitors. And now I'll shut up about computers, 'cause I know you got this. :)
I hate it when things just decide to stop working for no known reason... or when you find something acting... other than advertised, and NO ONE seems to be able to tell you why. :(
Hope this is the last gremlin you gotta deal with, I'm not sure I'm at minimum safe distance for a grump-plosion
I'm not overly knowledgable about video cards I'm just running a single Asus Nvidia GTX 760, it's been pretty good though.
*imagines a fluffy ball of Gen Grump* :3
If the sound on the board has died, it may be a precursor to (or a symptom of) more widespread failure. Is a new board a viable option, perhaps? If money is an issue, perhaps you can pick up one that's similar to what you have currently and thus not break the bank!
Good luck sorting it all out. Fried parts are never much fun.
downside is paying for the bloody thing. =p
Have you thought about using one super-high-end graphics card instead of SLI/Crossfire? You can free up a slot and some of these super-high-ends are better than two mid-ranges.
