I am going to fav this, and watch it later when I have more time because I am highly interested! I should do a tutorial for how I shade to, but i use paint tool sai, i tried using photoshop but its difficult for me.

I'm pretty sure whatever I do in PS you can do in SAI. My shading is basically a soft brush on a multiply layer using a cell shading technique.

I am gonna have to try this! I tried it before but it looked choppy. I have PS CS6 as well, so im sure that when I watch you do it i will get a picture of how to do it and practice at it.

How, just how can you make such a simple shading thecnique look so good. everytime i try that it doesn't even look good.

I've been doing it for years.

Then keep trying.

People say to me all the time, 'I can't draw'.

I tell them, yes you can, but you just haven't practised for a long time; probably not since early high school.

Would you pick up a tennis racket, take a few swings, and then conclude that you can't play tennis? Of course not. If you practice, you'll get better at it.

Of course, all the practice in the world probably won't make you play like Rafael Nadal - but you will play a lot better than when you started.

Drawing is the same - keep at it, and you *will* get better.

The downside is that if you don't practice, your skills will atrophy. I've personally found this from leaving off life drawing for years. When I did life drawing once or twice a week for three years running, I got really good at it. Now, I'm struggling. Like any physical skill, if you don't keep up the practice, you'll rust.

So hang in there - you'll get better.

The way I do somethings seems kinda like to way you do things and that makes me happy with my self and art. Tho, still learning some things from you that I hope to start adding into my own stuff. Thanks alot.

I've never enjoyed lisstening to someone talk during the work as much as this! I'm really impressed that you can make it interesting and flowing during the entire video. I know I would never be able to x3 Amd it's really good stuff that you're pointing out! Especially for small artists like myself.
