My chest hurts just reading that, holy hell. o.o

I'm not coordinated enough to do the whole pin-in-mouth thing, but I've seen so many that do. To avoid problems like this, those wristband magnets/pincushions are the most amazing under $5 purchase ever.

I always pinned them into my shirt, now I know a habit to NEVER take! Spreading the word!

This sort of thing was always in the back of my mind, I've been using my mouth as a convenient pin/needle holder for years.

I think it's time for a change of pace x.x; gotta break this old nasty habit and make sure I warn anyone else against it too!

Sometimes I use my mouth but I usually use fursuit heads as pin cushions! My mouth habit started to break after I started doing that

Not using my mouth at all anymore of course.

I don't need stuff like this! It makes my already irrational fear of needle-like objects even worse!

I try to put them in my lips only and keep my teeth shut- we had a similar horror story on day one of my costume course. It's so convenient though argh

i just use my shirt on the front corner of the shoulder as a pin cushion. its handy, right there, you can see what you're pulling, and if any work free you can feel them before they drop (though the pressure from the curve of the shoulder tends to stop this.

I very rarely hold pins in my mouth but when I do it's like a constant horrific thought reel of swallowing one. blughuahgoihfh that's so terrifying.

Similar thing happened to my mum over 10 years ago, she hiccuped, inhaled a pin, and it got lodged in her throat close to her heart. Was rushed to hospital to have it removed. :/

.. Well. Now I think it's time I should break my habit of holding my sewing pins/needles in my mouth and between my teeth.

AAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHGHHHHGGGGHHHHH ! Oh my god.... I do this all the time when sewing. I have always used the ones with the ball at the top but....maybe Ill have to find a new way to hold them

Thankfully I got out of the habit a long while ago.

I shove them into the couch or a pillow (when I KNOW I shouldn't) when I have them idling around, but I never thought about putting them into my mouth.

I used to hold pins in my mouth until one day when i almost swallowed one. I stopped to think about how imay have just avoided death over something so stupid. I never put them in my mouth now.

I don't know of anyone who sews who doesn't hold pins in their mouth, including me!! I have a magnetic pincushion, which is awesome to use, but I still catch myself with one in my mouth from time to time.. Not any more!!

I read years ago an old woman swallowed a carpet tack as a child and it went into her lungs...
Finally she had it taken out many years later...

Man... I put them I between my lips all the time... I guess this is a good reason to quit

Woahhh this scares me so much because I hold pins in my mouth from time to time. I'll be kicking THAT habit!
