I suppose smithmicro just wants to reduce their physical stock.... it's very cheap honestly so just buy the physical for the standard one, and then upgrade it some time in the future using the digital download if you need...

seems if you're not into comic making, the standard is already sufficient to draw illustrations... only when making comics, then youll be wanting the pro version.
