My FA page has become pretty bleak over the past year or two. Barely any new submissions and the only journals you see out of me nowadays are "I'm going to Con (fill in the blank)".

Well, hang tight kids, cause this journal entry will be no different.

I get to receive my consolation prize for not attending Elliotts Spring Gathering or Confuzzled this year when I pull my SR99 bug splattered rental car into one of the many fine and plentiful parking spaces of the Irvine Marriott for Califur/KROQ/WeenieRoast/CrochetGatheringFest2014. It's a pretty damn fine prize though, considering I get to see old friends, meet new folks, hang out in the mild coastal weather and make a general nuisance out of myself for an entire weekend. Really could do worse now couldn't I?

I will be staying at the Marriott Thursday through Sunday, unless I take a wrong turn and end up on Catalina Island or Area 51. Both bearskis will be coming down with and hopefully not trashing my hotel room. Of course, I will be armed with beer. Might even bring along a blender with me...or maybe a bounce house?

If you're in the neighborhood next weekend, stop by and say hey. You'll probably find me in the pool floating face down. Just throw a life preserver to me and I'll get out and we'll have drinks.
