I had a genius idea...
I was going to write a short story about Twilight Sparkle getting totally shitfaced and then has the great idea to write a letter to Celestia, telling her how much she hates ponyville and all the retard ponies in the town...
Then I go and see if anyone else has done it, and it has been done before...

Honestly, just listening to it, you could confuse it to an Avatar remake. Right down to "I know I'm not one of you, but I earned your trust and I'm warning you: Every other human wants to drive you out of your home and/or kill you".

The only thing new about Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper was that he put Judah on the same side of the table as everyone else. There are lots of paintings and sculptures of David having slain Goliath. The same goes for stories. Kurt Vonnegut made a diagram of each of the six kinds of novels there are. tvtropes.org lists all the plot elements.
So write your own story anyway.
It was that good and comfy in my opinion but yeah talk about coincidence. You have an idea and suddenly with no fault of your own its taken.
just because an idea has been done before does not mean you will end up doing the exact swame thing.
