Going on Holiday (Edited)

My Uncle in Minnesota wants me to come fix some stuff for him... Will be gone for a week starting Monday.
Also, got 80 rds of 30-06 loaded with the proper powder for my M1 Garand... going to get to test it up there, see how it functions after the Op-rod re-bent.
Note to anypony that owns an M1, DO NOT USE OFF THE SHELF AMMO, unless you get an adjustable gas plug, you can cause a few hundred dollars of damage if you shoot modern ammo with it. The pressures are too high and can bend the op-rod, crack it, cause irreparable damage to the gas tube and so on...
Use 150gr to 185gr jacketed bullets, 40 to 50gr of IMR-4895 or H-4895 powder, CCI primers and cartridge total length of 3.2 to 3.34 inches.
Also, I can finally get a good set of M1 videos up on you tube that aren't 240p and shot 10 years ago...

Hope your uncle's repairs go smoothly, and enjoy your shooting.
I'm a bit surprised at your Garand issues with factory ammo. Surely you're not the only Garand shooter who's used it...

My dad uses military surplus loads in his M1s. So far no bent rods or any other mentioned issues.
