Yep, that's right: some sort of official media involving the new Doom game has finally been released! There's not a whole lot to see though, with no actual game footage and only some dim, close-up views of a monster (obviously not rendered with the game engine) to look at.
What I find most interesting about the trailer are the UAC logos on the mechanical parts of the beast. Is the Union Aerospace Corporation actually manufacturing these things now? Or are the demons just stealing UAC tech for their own purposes?
The black Doom logo looks pretty cool at least. XD

1: have it like brutal doom, though we dont need the...kill shots like the ripping and stuff, save that for the packs and last for about 60 seconds
2: no gun is more op than the other or weaker than the other, all consume ammo, all serve a good purpose, give us a pistol, does good damage and fire rate
3: NON LINEAR!!! Have the inconsistencies of the originals, allow freedom and have things for the Completionist, the Casual, and the Speedrunner, take a Super Metroid approach, find a glitch, like rocket jumping or super speed, work around it or something, make it fun and stuff, also we want rooms that dont mean shit but for secrets
4: there is NOTHING WRONG ABOUT COLLECTIBLES, but make it worth while, like getting X amount of Science papers you can see some bosses health, or better yet, better optics or alternative skins for the weapons, or do this, you find one in a level and OOOO LOOK!!! BFG!!! *click...walls fall as a few floating daemons scream* EAT PLASMA BITCHES!!!
5: WE FUCKIN WANT CORPSES TO KILL!!! not corridors to walk, we want blood and gore and guts all over the walls, all over the floor and we dont care who cleans that shit up!
6: make the controls and level design to appeal to the Oldskool doom guys, and the new hip mouselooks
seriously, you CANT JUST make it like Brutal doom, theres stuff that i like to say about it, but seriously, just take notes from it, not copy it
1. You disgust me.
2. Pistol is supposed to suck. Its Classic Doom, not gonna be changed.
3. I agree about not being Linier. Rest is just gibberish to me not making much sense.
4. Boss HP is not relevant. Never needed HP bars to know im killing something, so don't need them now. If enemies break apart or gored to death, I know I did my job.
5. Cant kill a corpse. This is relevant, how?
6. Probably the only thing I agree with you 100%.
And my last words will be:
"You should be ashamed to have developers deface Brutal Doom by thinking of them making something like it. Brutal Doom is great by itself, and WILL remain that way. But if Sgt.Marks ever heard you say this, he would slap the shit out of you for your #1 and I would too"
But it's exciting to see that it hasn't been forgotten. ^_^
And I still stand by the 2009 Wolfenstein. It might not have been full of secret rooms like classic Wolfenstein, but there were still tons of secrets with all the gold and intel stuffed inside hidden places.
I'm also not entirely sure how much involvement -- if any -- that Bethesda actually has with this game. I think it's still pretty much an Id Software title, so I wouldn't be expecting The Elder Scrolls: Doom 4. :)
Looks like to me a HD remaster of Doom3, with itself wasnt really what doom used to be.
IM quiet disapointed that they seem to recapture the doom1 story.... would had been neat if they continued the storyline with a new chapter or something.... but dunno it looks like a "flashligth wiggle wiggle stuff spawns behind your back and trys to be scary" kind of game... didnt enjoy that in doom3 at all.
And this isn't actual gameplay, so it's hard to say what the real game will look like.
