Auctions...
I've only tried auctions a slim handful of times, but every time there seemed to be little interest and the individual that won the auction ends up backing out/being unable to pay/etc... which I can understand, stuff happens!! But it does get discouraging.
I think I'll hold off on attempting a large auction again until I've gathered a larger following and have further proven myself to be reliable with commission work.
For the record, I'm planning for auctions to be the only way to receive pieces from me with 3+ characters, full backgrounds, etc.. stuff like that! I have two jobs and I participate in my community a lot, so I don't have much time to take on larger commissions.. but I wanted to make a rare opportunity available every now and then.

That happening is exactly why I enforced a rule in my auctions where all bids are final, and if you bid and back out / opt our of payment, youre not allowed to participate in any of my auctions / games / raffles etc....so make sure that if you win, you WILL pay what you bid, or else youre barred for being a liar. I tend to avoid doing business with people who prove to be untrustworthy in that sense...if this person backs our of an auction at the last minute, whos to say they wont do the same to a commission?
Dont let it get you down. I know it sucks but in the end, your art should always be for you first before its for everyone else. Keep doign what you do!! Your work is fabulous!
I'll certainly be dubious of said individuals in future auctions.
