So this happened

Well, before I start, one thing you must know, is that for the past 23 years I've lived on Grays Harbor in Washington State. In the town I live the deer population is quite large, most are afraid of people but not cars.
For the first time in 23 years yesterday, I threw out some hard, stale sourdough hogie rolls for the seagulls and crows to eat. Some time later I found a blacktailed deer doe in my front yard eating the stale rolls. After she ate them I tried to give her a not-stale slice of Milk and Honey bread. She refused and ... well a crow got impatient and divebombed her ass making her jump in shock and move away from the bread.
But today, while cooking burgers and watching my cat Metoo in the front yard, a 3 point buck took interest in what was going on but stayed out at the road. On a whim I went inside and got a slice of milk and honey bread and tore it into pieces. I threw some out to the buck and he ate it like it was the tastiest thing in the world. Once he ate the slice I went back in and got another. By the time I got back out he was at the corner of the property again. I clucked my tongue and showed him the bread and he came back and ate some more, but wasn't brave enough to eat it out of my hand until he realized that he was just one step away from me. The buck ate the second half of that slice from my hand. Deciding that the bread was getting old I went inside and got the rest of the loaf and came back out again. The deer was out at the road again and when he saw the bread he practically bounded over and ate the rest of the loaf right from my hand.
Though sadly, half a loaf of bread wasn't enough trust for him to allow me to pet along his snout or side. When I reached out he snorted and backed off, wouldn't come close until I gave him another slice of bread. I wasn't going to push my luck and just let him eat the rest of bread in peace.
