Greetings FLB Fans!
Hope you are enjoying your 4th of July Weekend, our fans in the US. The fireworks keep coming here in the FLB as well! You'll notice that a new part of the box scores is the Player of the Game along with the stats that explain why they were chosen. We hope that it enhances your enjoyment of the game even on days that quick blurbs aren't available.
For those of you who haven't seen it, the FLB has an official site that provides articles of insight as well as keeping hold of many of the statistics. GMs are invited to submit their opening day and future reports to the official FLB Page: http://furryleaguebaseball.blogspot.com/

Luiz Marquez may have had a slow beginning... for the first two games of the season, but the cougar showed why he was the front runner for the MVP award last year, reaching base on all of his at-bats tonight. The night proved to be a tough first start for rookie Sandy Viper-Roberts, tacking her for 4 runs in 5.1 innings.
Kumiho "Kyu-Ball" Kakashi, prize pickup from the NFPB, wowed the home crowd and the Ravens alike, fanning 14 as the home team cruised to a win on the back of the kitsune pitcher. Young Sabina Zula helped to add to that win, hitting a 3-run home run in the 4th.
The River Rats had an unusual game, winning with more runs than hits and less hits than the home-team waves. But five of those runs were scored on a pair of home runs by the top of the Rats' lineup.
The Pikes rocked Charleston's Alan Baker today, knocking the lemur out with just 2.2 innings with 7 runs in a rocking 3rd inning that saw the Pikes send a total of 14 at bats that inning with nine hits.
Though Paco Salazar had a great game for the Meadowlarks, the Tikis charged to a win, backing up rookie pitcher Ketch Renner who shook off a two-run inning to go into the sixth for the Tikis and letting the bullpen hold fort.
The Bombers continued their tear, this time on the shoulders of Boris Ritter. Ritter, who was often in the voting for the Van Hooven award for his career until languishing in the River Rats' bullpen for the 2013 season spun a gem of a complete game tonight, fanning 8 while only letting two across home plate.
