In this case if you are not a fan of ponies, dick-girls, general eye-candy, and solo drawings then funding, atryl, is not a good idea.
Along with commissions giving people the option to have their dream content being created commissions also challenge the artist, assuming they can rise to the challenge.
Well, it looks like this is going to be the last commission journal forever by the looks of things. I hope this commentary makes people understand more about money and financing. Good Day.
For one, people support me because they like what I do and they want me to continue doing it. Second, I don't just draw ponies and dickgirls, if you look at my gallery I draw tons of fan art and some original content if I have the time. I would like to draw more of that, but I need to know how the crowd reacts to that. Third, I don't use patreon for commissions anymore, and I do commissions when I have the time. I have many things going on RL wise which is nobody's business, I think we agree on that. And last but not at least I do a LOT of stuff, which is not connected to patreon (really the 'art pack' is the only thing that's 'patreon funded'), just because the patreon link on low opacity is there that doesn't mean I wouldn't do them without patreon.
So yea. I still do commissions, it's not my fault that most of them want ponies. I have no problem with that.
I see that your problem is you couldn't commission me, or someone else with a patreon? But do you think any artist would gladly do your commission with this attitude? I certainly wouldn't.
