From Chrismukkah T. Pangolin or

First, I would like to apologize in advance if this journal is going to cause any drama than what us furries are already capable of achieving at any given moment.
HOWEVER - It has recently come to my attention that certain, and certainly unneeded/rude comments were left on one of our submissions.
Not to mention that another comment was left, ALSO rude and uncalled for, to another fur's submission (on their page, not ours).
Yes, these comments can be (and have been) removed from the said submission(s).
I am honestly not sure what to think, except that - our group is only showcasing the dish, the skill, and THE COOKING that goes into every dish we showcase here on our page. What is more, we hope that you at least TRY the dish that we show here, thats why we do this!
But with all due respect - if it happens to be from an animal (or calls for ingredients from the animal) - we are NOT going to apologize about it. For the most part, we are carnivores...or at the very least, omnivorous.
We have always tried to please every palate, though we do realize that not EVERY dish is going to work out.
If you happen to be vegan or vegetarian, fine. I can only remind those of you who have chosen, or have, that lifestyle/diet: we HAVE posted those kinds of recipes. Moreover, we are NOT forcing you to try a dish that has meat, contains meat, or has anything meat-related in the dish itself.
We are not even forcing you to look at the dish...I mean, you must have better things to do, right?
Cooking is an art form.
Art, we realize, is subjective.
So are opinions, and while we know all about the old saying about opinions...
That DOESNT mean you have to act/be like that saying, now does it :3
I will NOT - and I repeat, NOT ban you outright (as it might hint at on the front of our page) as you do HAVE that right to express your opinion.
I also believe in free speech - as well as, MY freedom to remove your comment from the submission IF I believe you are coming off AS rude.
HOWEVER, IF THIS BECOMES OR GETS TO THAT POINT WHERE YOU -ARE- BEING AN OBVIOUS TROLL WITH MULTIPLE RUDE COMMENTS OR ETC., I WILL BLOCK YOU, NO EXCEPTIONS, END OF STORY, PERIOD.
The pangolin has spoken >_<
...Sheesh !
I don't have a problem with people being vegetarians, but I oppose anti-meat crusading, just as I oppose forcing meat down vegetarians' throats. I eat meat but I believe people have the freedom to choose what to eat as long as they didn't get it in any bad way (and merely killing animals doesn't count--but torturing them would) and as long as they get the nutrition that they need. The latter is entirely on them (I don't believe in a police state)--but the former requires us to know what counts as a good way to get food and what counts as a bad way to get food.
Now, if I were to be a gigantic asshole, I would change "every" for "some"
Shush :B
Besides, you know we don't take 'mixes' (if we can help it) :B
Exactly, you're right. In fact, I'm kind of reminded of something that Marilyn vos Savant said. Someone asked if it was a good idea to take eggs out of our diet because of the cholesterol-laden yolks, and she said she didn't think it was necessary, saying "We don't mind of peaches have pits, do we?"
I didn't understand that comparison until she put it another way, saying that fruits like peaches have stones (emphasis hers) in the middle but we don't give up eating pits on that basis, so why give up eggs because the (edible) yolks are full of cholesterol?
I didn't mean to misinterpret your meaning and I'm glad you took no offense, as none was meant.
But yes, even though I believe in speaking out against evil rather than ignoring it or letting it happen, I'd probably get in trouble on this site if I did that completely because there are whole group pages that I wish wouldn't exist. Plus I don't want people's first impression of me as a Catholic Christian (or just as an individual) to be negative even if it's honest. That's why I need to learn to speak up more on things I like and agree with, to counter that--I have Asperger's Syndrome, so it's not always easy for me.
Again, thank you for understanding.
If I ever find you pangolin ... >____>;;
It's not that hard to just not click on something you know you don't like.
That way you share your knowledge and skill in cooking with everyone, promote your own vegan/vegetarian lifestyle to others and no one has any reason to be upset or ban you for it.
Except for the fact - well, lets take for example, our most recent post of a whole roasted chicken ....and its supposed to BE a recipe, for a whole, roasted chicken...
....Er....yeah, I'll just leave that there, as 'food for thought' if you'll pardon the expression :B
Please dont take his the wrong way - I am in NO WAY bashing vegans, veganism, vegetarianism or etc -
It's just that, many of our recipes DO call for using meat, fish or dairy (or from the animal in some way) !
I wont deny we SHOULD post more veggie recipes (and that includes myself btw!)....
But if you're going to take away my bacon...
...
YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE THAT BACON FROM MY COLD, DEAD PAWS!!!!
:P
I agree on the entire issue, I'm no vegetarian or vegan, but I do on occasion eat no-meat meals, and in fact have a few recipes of my own that specifically call for no meat; so a bit more representation of no-meat recipes would be cool ^^
if I can ever get ahold of a decent camera I might start uploading some of my own recipes ^^
I have quite a few I've been wanting to upload, and a few of which are suitable for vegetarians (if not vegans, as I believe some vegetarians still consume fish and eggs and dairy products, whereas vegans don't)
I'm in on way a vegan or vegetarian. I love meat more than some people, and don't support people bashing non veggie recipes here. But if they're going to complain, the BEST way I see them getting results is posting their own recipes and trying to come up with alternative methods and ingredients for the recipes already here.
Put it this way: if you - or Onyxheart above you - DOES have a veggie recipe, I will be MORE than happy to post it here on our page, first thing!
I've always maintained that it is about encouraging all to cook for them selves rather than just hit the take out, encourage everyone one young, old, beginners and experienced to share what they do, be they carnivorous, vegetarian or omnivorous and in-between-nivorous they can think of.
You did a well put journal. *hugs*

quite a few dishes use goat cheese which isn't that common
That's it for a quick search and off the top of my head. *hugs* I think its a great idea and I've pointed Chrismukkah our delightful current mod at the idea. Make a good journal call for the adventourous cooks/chefs/foodies out there
And to think, I didnt get any flak for the Hassenpfeffer :B
I jest.
