Making molds ??? help
Hello my darlingsim thinking of eventually making some molds for parts if i cant manage to find people selling molds for ever part that i want.
so ive got a question about making the mold...
usually you would start by making the thing you want a mold of, out of clay and then make the mold on that. but say ive got a pare of paw pads, or a nose or something and I want to use THAT to make a mold of it, can I? like is it safe for the silicon nose to have a mold made from it? will it ruin the nose? will it stick to the nose and just blend with it? is there something i could put on the nose so that nothing bad happens to it?
has anybody done this before?
i would just try it out when the time comes but i realllyyy dont wana ruin my stuff...

If yes the silicone will be fine if you are using silicone itself to make a mold of it, just rub some Vaseline or oil onto it so it won't stick or ruin the product.
However if the pawpads and nose were not made by you- do NOT make a mold out of it ^.^
If you need more help feel free to note or comment :3
Hmm, you can really use any type, you can google different types. It just depends on how rubbery or 'plastic like' you want it? Like.. Some nose makers just use the stuff that's used in erasers, others make a plastic mold and over it in felt or glue small beads and paint black for the 'rough nose' look ^-^
I second the vaseline, though. You may try plastic wrap, but that, and wax paper even more, could leave wrinkles in the mold.
Listen to that
i figured just making the clay piece myself might be fine, more fun i guess, ill just use what i have as reference
