No PCD For This Bear
So it's been a damn long time since I logged on here and a damn long time since I really reconnected with the fandom. I kinda took a hiatus for a while to work on myself and my career. I wasn't exactly given a choice in the matter but when the mouse boss says your working nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays it kinda kills your furry socialization time.
Given how long I had been gone and how busy I have been and continue to be I was not expecting to be able to spend much time at Megaplex this year. Surprisingly Sunday actually opened up and I was able to do the one day attendance thing. I didn't really expect my absence to be noticed when my hiatus started and I found when I arrived on Sunday that I was very much mistaken.
Throughout the entire day I kept bumping into people saying "Robear! Where the Hell have you been, I've been watching out for you the whole con!" I never would have expected that kind of reaction from so many different people. So I guess the meat and potatoes of this post is that I really want to say thank you to everyone. You guys made me feel so loved and welcomed.
So for me, I have no post con depression. I left the con feeling not sad but reconnected with all of my awesome friends and with the local community at large. While I'm a little bummed that I don't get to do anywhere near the amount of furry events that I used to, The fandom will always be there with open arms whenever I'm able to be a part of it. Or as another bear once said "The fandom will be here when you get back".

I understand the work/furry thing. I'm very lucky to be able to attend what I can, given that I work mostly nights and weekends (the nature of the biz.) There are some days when I think "Why didn't I get a 9-to-5 office job with benefits and vacation days and nights & weekends off?"
Then I remember how lucky I am to do what I do and get paid for it, and I just shut up, take the money, and enjoy the fandom when I can. :)
