First, however, we must tell you that God or whatever your current deity is doesn't actually exist...as you know them. They exist, but they are YOUR deity. Everyone has a personal "god" of sorts, in the form of their "higher selves". And your higher self seeks experiences, both good and bad. Basically there's a lot of reincarnation and stuff, and when you die, you merge with your higher self, and then you and all your past lives, as your higher self, plan for your next life. It quite complicated, but it explains why there are so many religions: Because they were necessary in order for our higher selves to experience the religion-based tragedies that occurred with them.
