Liger Watch. OMG! OMG! Good StarTrek!

Well it seems the age of good StarTrek isn't dead. Thanks to a friend of mine I came across this short film "Prelude to Axanar." A Crowd sourced film with a damn good look to it. It's currently raising money to continue with this into a feature length film and it just looks and sounds awesome. Done in the style of an in universe Documentary it feels like your in the Trek universe watching it and all the actors in it are bringing their A Game and the effects are pretty darn good for this. Definitely superior to a lot of stuff that makes it on TV like all those SyFy channel movies. So here's a link to the it for anyone who's interested. If you've got the money to spare and happen to be a trek fan than by all means donate some to their kickstarter. ^^ Hope you guys Enjoy this.

The ONE thing i still dont like is the depiction/layout of the Engineering area and warp core (tho second remake's warp core is a bit better than the first's multiple cores....)
And I have no problem with a simple plot but I found a large number of plot holes. For one the giant War ship built in secret in orbit of Jupiter. How the hell do you built a ship in secret in the heart of the Federation and on Earth's door step no less? Also during the intense ship to ship fight over Earth how come no other vessels come by? I mean shouldn't someone notice this large unknown, unmarked ship shooting the hell out of the Federation's Flag ship in the Heart of the Federation and assume that the Federation is under attack? Also wow Khan's blood as a resurrection device. Why? I mean Spock's original death in Wrath of Khan was effective largely because he seemed to be really dead, there was no obvious resurrection button and as far as anyone knew at the time Spock wasn't coming back. On that note why did they need Khan's blood at all? They still had his crew. Their all augments so any of them should have done. Oh and here's one I kinda chuckle at. Khan is supposed to be stronger, faster, and smarter than a normal human. And yet he hid his men inside munitions. How is it smart to hide your men in something that's designed to blow up? And if he had time to do that didn't he have time to wake them all up? Surely an small Army of Augments could have escaped Federation forces.
And on a purely nerdy note I hate that Abrams just makes up aliens for the background characters. It'd have been nice to see some familair species. Like say Andorians or Tellerites. You know two of the founding members of the Federation.
On the same note, have you seen "Star Trek Continues?" That's another professional/ fan-made trek show along the same lines as Star Trek: Phase 2, though in my opinion is very nearly as good as the original show. They've made three episodes already and hopefully they'll continue making more as far as I'm concerned.
Live Long and Prosper!
