The Car is Finally MINE!!!...almost
So...for those that haven't kept up with my journals; I leased a new car 3 years and 3 months ago when my old car was running into the end of its life and its manufacturer was practically going non-existent. I also leased this car a week or two before a bizarre family situation (which I wish to no longer talk about as at this time it's done with and over) that threw off my plans on how to save up said car for the final payment that was needed next week (or today since I did it today).
Anyways; ups and downs aside, I just visit my dealership with my pop and we took care of the buyout since I wanted to keep my car. The first hiccup/unforeseen issue though was the price. I thought I was told; both by my dealership and Ally that I've been making payments too, that it was only going to be a "certain" price that I could deal with and that I was originally saving up for. Of course; as it came to a few months before the end of the lease I was pretty screwed that I wasn't able to save up to that "certain" price and had to ask my dad to let me tap into what I have left in my inheritance funds left from one of my grandparents. I was surprised that he was actually supportive throughout all this (though part of me is paranoid that he might be keeping in some resentment over me not having the funds on my own...or at least finding out I'm not as financially secured at the moment as I would like) *get thoughts out of head*
Anyways...That "certain" price ended up being a higher "certain" price due to not being appropriately told of a number on line # here that said THIS was my buyout price. I did argue this because I was told something different, TWICE. But these guys wouldn't budge. The only inch of luck we got was that it did end up being cheaper than the BUYOUT price going to my dealership instead of paying through Ally (by only $550 less). Unfortuantely; they wouldn't except a credit card so we had to pay through an electronic check of some sort that will get sent to Ally, as long as all is well CLEAR in 3 business days, and then get our car title pink slip thingy in the mail.
Once we get that! we head down to our DMV and make the name switch so my car goes under MY name...plus some DMV tax we have to pay.
So while the final payment has technically been made, I still have to a wait another week until the car is finally MINE mine. So despite this bull pretty much done and just have to handle some title transfer stuff, I still feel somewhat tense and blah about all this (though my BLAH is another story >___> ).
The next steps after all this...save the money I originally been paying monthly for the car payments and try to rebuild the money I had to spend from my inheritance.
Fun :P

Woo, car ownership! Always a great moment in life, like paying Tom Nook off of a house loan! Except you don't get a bigger car and a bigger debt as a result.
