Drunk driving; Don't do it.
Hey all, it has been well over nine months since my last journal, and something... Interesting happened lately and I'd figured I'd tell you I'm not dead.
So, about a week and a half ago, two friends and I were walking around our hometown, about twenty minutes outside of Seattle. We stop at a chevron, I pick up some butterfinger cups, because those are fucking delicious. We leave, and we start walking back. At the light, around 11:30 PM, my friend, Mark, casually says, 'Hey guys, that car is close...' We look, and Mark jumps out of the way. Mike grabs my shirt, and rips me backwards. The car nearly hits me, and slams into a guard rail about a foot to the right of us. She over corrects, looses control of her vehicle, drives it into a hill, and flips the car.
First thing we hear is screaming. A toddler. We run over to the car, and I call 911.
We learned earlier that she was drunk. With a toddler in the backseat.
Seriously, call a cab, have someone pick you up. Don't endanger other people's lives. I nearly lost mine, and she endangered her own child's. Thank goodness that the toddler was okay in the end.
And Michael, you saved my life. I am eternally grateful. Thank you.

Drink driving is just so... well, you've summed it up. Disappointing is an incredibly large understatement.
I will not ever drink and drive, especially with someone as young as a toddler with me. It's depressing always hearing about stuff like this, and how people don't learn...but this becomes a learning experience for all of us then.
