I never got the minimalist approach, if I saw a book with a cover like those I never picked it up.

Well, it's not a style that's really in use anymore ... it's more of something you'd see back in the 50's or 60's.

Pretty much anything would be better than the standard BioShock cover art. Good thing I have the collector's edition.

Also.. Old School MegaMan box art. The horror. :O

Well, at least the old MegaMan boxes had a certain degree of charm. Nowadays it's just "pre-rendered character in a bad-ass pose" everywhere you look.

True, true. I'm trying to think of a good example of a unique/cool cover for something. The Portal cover was just the symbol of a stick-person going through a Portal, right? That wasn't bad. And the BioShock collector's edition was just the BioShock logo on a rusty metal background.

Oh, and the Zelda covers have been mostly classy. Just the Zelda logo and the title and a few small graphics surrounding it on a solid gold background, right?

Also, the recent GTA covers have been alright, with that specific art style and the multi-celled layout. Boxes and boxes, that is.

What we need is more Dada box art. REALLY fuck with people!

What an awesome idea. There's a lot of box art that I really like (especially games like Okami, Curse Of Monkey Island and such that have great art direction) - but this is a really cool idea to approach video game covers from this way. I've never even considered this idea - but I like it!

Simplicity- a tool of great power in the right hands.
