just single player or as a private server? sadly no, hmm, i think googling may help

I was thinking a survival mode online game with a few people would be fun. I guess that means using a server? Unless there is a way to direct connect. I dunno. I've never tried it, I'm only really just starting to get into minecraft.

There's only Lan mode for private, and that's well... Lan. You would have to pay for a private server for you and your friends. Prices range anywhere from 3$ to 15$ for a small one. Per month.

You could also do hamachi, but that'd be vanilla minecraft for a select number (Unless you pay for hamachi yearly.) That method's kind of complex, you have to download the minecraft server file, set up the peramiters, white list, etc.

and it'd only be open when you run it on your computer. Makes (on some computers,) gameplay for the host (Whoever's running the server) Kind of laggy, and gameplay for others depends on your connection, so laggy for you would be laggy for them.
