I'd really appreciate some help with this one.

Ok, so. Kuro the miserable domestic cat is my fursona. I like him, kind of, he looks mean and evil and likes slicing things. It's all good.

But, uh, he's not a great hit with the fandom, since he's not cute or fluffy and doesn't have a rictus grin.

I......do want to be a hit with the fandom. I do. I don't really have another social network and despite being old enough to know better, I want furries to like me and my fursona. Especially if I'm going to be a fursuiter, you know?

I think with practice I could build a decent fursuit (mark one had some serious teething problems, mark two will fix them and have a bigger budget) but I really can't decide whether to remake Kuro, or change my fursona to something other furs will like.

Specifically, a weasel called Murmur, who's probably a girl and not badass or miserable at all. Just nice and cute and huggable and ticks all the boxes for being accepted by the fandom.

I don't really care about being true to myself in general - I have enough non-furry friends (who don't count as a social network because they are scattered across the country, sigh) - what I want to know is whether such a huge change would make me into someone furries could like. Or would it make me seem like a sellout who doesn't know what she's doing?
