Kitties Future Plans and Suggestion Box

Firstly I'd like to go over what we did differently this year...
The biggest thing was the raffle and although that's a big fuss to keep track of, I think it made the whole thing a lot more fun. I worried that it would harbor ill feelings like events that not everyone can win sometimes do, but for the most part that was not the case.
And although it's going to take me awhile to mail them all, I think I will continue to offer wristbands to everyone who donated as well. I'm mailing at least two to everyone, so you'll get one and a spare. I may have to get more than two hundred next year to be able to manage that.
I also want to take a moment to thank you all for making the “Court Reporter” images a success as well. It was just a silly idea I had for a way for Fox to make back the income she was going to lose by coming down here to help me, and thanks to all of you, she made that income back and then some (she shared her success with us by buying many meals and other things while she was here). We will DEFINATELY be doing that again next year, perhaps even setting up a court reporter fund for people to just toss donations into for her to doodle at her leisure since many people just threw donations at her and told her to pick from a pool of ideas anywho.
Pizza gift certificates were also a great idea. Some people paypaled me money anyway since the Pizza Hut site was a little wonky. The only reason why I used that site (and used Razoo) is for transparency, so you know I'm not pocketing your money. Saying that, we all enjoyed a repast of pizza thanks to you.
Viscera Cleanup, in theory was fun but in planning was not. I forgot that technically the game is not finished yet and has some bugs. So next year, Left 4 Dead 2 again. I know you're all terribly put out by that. (As an aside, Fermie, you wanna play Dead Space 3 sometime?)
I'm already making plans for next year. The biggest thing is that I'd like for us to adopt one of the Ocelots at BCR as our mascot. At the moment the two Ocelots there are named Purrfection http://bigcatrescue.org/purr-fection/ and Nirvana http://bigcatrescue.org/nirvana/ and I'd like to adopt one or both as a mascot for the games. Big Cat Rescue does not handle or touch their cats except to examine them, so they'll have to attend in spirit.
I would also like to make next year a little more interactive and allow voting on games. I'll probably be setting up strawpolls for people to vote on what the next game will be while I play the current one. I do think that the format of a bunch of small games worked out better than a couple of really long ones so I'll stick to that. The trick this time around will be finding something that can traumatize you guys as much as Toonstruck did. Muahahahaah.
If you have any suggestions I am more than happy to listen. Some things I just can't do, and the games I pick I do so because they're entertaining to watch, which means some games you might find fun to play might not be that great to stream on account of being boring to watch. I also want to stick to games that take six hours or less to play all the way through, so keep that in mind as well. But besides that, I'm all ears for ideas or suggestions!
Thank you all again for your donations, your time, and everything else. Here's hoping Kitties 4 will be even more amazing.

FA+

sadly I was only in the steam for a few minutes
work sucks sometimes
I have ideas for some additional technical ways to help/improve, but as you know me, I need to flesh things out more fully before I can bring them up to you.
Saw some of the Viscera bugs, so I can understand wanting something a little easier to work with. What other multiplayer games can we come up with so L4D doesn't get monotonous? Team Fortress maybe? Definitely need some suggestions there. Wish the old AVP games still worked, those'd be great having a group of marines, a group of aliens and a pred or two all scaring the hell outta each other
Glad that Fox's court reporter bit worked out too, I know I enjoyed what got drawn up (especially the bits that I missed being asleep -.-). I think You've got a good idea there, having people "bookmark" moments into a pool for her to draw from.
One thing that's definitely needed though: a boom or room mic to pic up all of what's going on in the background (especially kitty noises ) I could usually hear what was going on in the background, but it wasn't always clear. It was always funny though. Especially listening to Fox scream from the other room, and Uriel's response to one of them
The plans all look good - was pleased to be able to see (and support) as much of the event as I did, hope to be able to do so again next year.
Also, I wish I had thought of this ahead of time, but I could have offered Tigerdile swag to the raffle pool and/or to donators. Next year, if I still have sufficient swag inventory, we can do that.
Another thing you might consider is letting people vote on terms for games. Like, play it with a certain character or class or weapon. Doesn't work for every game, but I have other streams use that successfully, often combine with an incentive to donate. Meaning, you donate, you get a vote. The last part might be a bit tricky, especially with a donation minimum of $10, but it is still something to consider.
Since it's available on Steam, I would suggest 'Epic Mickey 2' as one of the games that could be voted on. It does have a co-op feature (at least on the Wii version..not sure about the Steam version) and it has enough elements that would fit with the overall theme of games that were played this year. The only concern would be the total amount of time it takes to play through the game.
Um, for the wristbands are you using addresses from Paypal cause I think they've got my latest one cause the last one you have for me (Billings) hasn't been valid since 2011.
