I ended up writing down some minimalistic back story for Rennis, plans for future comic style commissions mayhaps?
Be warned, this is depressing and by no means a happy story to be told...

Rennis would awake from sleep to the sounds of battle, he hurries outside with dagger in hand.
Rennis as a young man/boy fighting a heated battle in burning remains of his clans camp, swinging his family's sword as he fights frantically against his attackers from the bear clan.
It is night time with the stars and moon above.

Sitting amongst the blood stained snow with blade laying beside him as he knelt beside his fallen father who lay motionless, there is no sign of his mother nor most of the clans women.
The sun is rising as he lay his father (after the others have already been) to rest atop a funeral pyre to be sent skyward like those before him.
Rennis crudely customizes a dagger given to him on his last birthday amidst the fires of his former home engraving into it runes befitting his growing rage towards the bear clan, "Bear Bane".
He intends to use it in the killing of most the clan as his family blade is still heavy for him.

Following the tracks of foot, hoof, and blood through the snow Rennis stands atop a cliff over looking an encampment of the bear clan. He can see/hear that they hold prisoners most likely the women that had been taken. He waits until night to infiltrate and locate his mother and others, upon finding his mother left for dead after she refused and attacked whomever had'had the gal to try her she instructs him to find and take the others to safety as she will not be able to walk let alone fight her way out giving him her crystal pendent.

Upon finding the others taken by the bear clan Rennis is disheartened to find that they refuse to
leave with him and instead demand justice for what has been done to their clan, he stays and
fights by their side determined to put an end to the bear clan as they had done to his.
He is engulfed in his berserk nature as the battle rages.
His dagger is lost in a body amidst the chaos and draws his family blade, the leader of the clan
comes down on him with great force bringing Rennis to his knees while he blocks.
As all seems lost his Mjölnir pendent glows softly and he feels new strength enter him, he repels the
attacker and staggers him backward as Rennis returns to his feet.
The bear clan falls but so do the others that had sworn to stay and fight, Rennis leaves the camp
with his mothers body and begins the return to his fallen home as the bear camp burns.

The fires are nearly dead at the ruined tora camp as Rennis packs for the endless journey that stands before him, he knows this place is no longer safe nor the home he loved.
Now he will travel as he has always dreamed after hearing the tales of his father&mother's travels across the lands, though this is a sad day beyond words at least he can take some all be it little joy in his dreams fulfilled.
He takes his leave with the ashes of his past behind him, and the hope of his future before him.
