I've been playing this game since 3:00 PM today and man, oh man, am I having a blast. The areas are expansive. It's fun to explore. Combat is far more fun than both Origins and 2. The story is tense and well-written. The characters are all interesting. Even the side quests have been lovingly crafted, though there still are a fair few fetch quests.
Perhaps a more detailed review later. For now, I'm loving this game.

They described the gay companion pretty badly to me, made him sound annoying.

To be fair, they did that with most of the characters, especially Cole and Vivienne. I imagine that's because saying anything else would give away too much.
