South Park Season 20
I just finished the latest season of South Park and I have to say that I wasn't too impressed. I thought that the serialization of South Park might be a good thing, considering how well it worked for last season, but I just don't think it works well anymore. South Park is one of the few shows that can do contemporary issues rather well (something that a show like Futurama often failed at) and it showed with the last season. But the member berries, the trolling, and the 'women are smart and totally funny' bit just seemed hammered in way too often; Trey Parker and Matt Stone really beat those horses until they were dead and then kept beating them afterwards.

They didn't even resolve the Member Berries! They showed up in the Oval Office, and that's the last we heard of them! WTF?!

That, too, which makes it all the more obvious that member berries were there just to be there. When an important plot point like that is left off, something that actually supposedly moved the story so much, it just shows that there was no real reason for it.

I think what caused most of the problems at the end can be traced to the election. They were so sure Hillary would win that the episode after had to be changed the night before. They probably had the story set out in that direction and when it was wrong, they had to suddenly try to finish something they hadn't prepared for which is why so many things fell flat or came out unresolved. :c

I'm guessing that that was certainly part of the problem. Clinton's part never really seemed to get resolved either, just like the member berries, but honestly the season seemed a little tired three or four episodes in, with too much reliance on the same jokes said over and over again. Like, Cartman's arc. I mean, I know that a good number of female comedians pretty much only make vagina jokes, but Cartman doing nothing but making jokes about female comedians making vagina jokes gets old fast, too, and it just went... nowhere. His whole plot just went nowhere. The whole time it just went in circles and that's just not good when Cartman is such a main driving force for the show.

I'm pretty sure that you can't just throw together an entire episode in a single night. They would've had two separate timelines to finish off the season already well-prepared depending on who won the election.

Therer were a few scenes that could stay cause it didn't matter who won for them, but everything else had to be completely redone in a single night. They've said so already.
