Hi folks! Although we all know that gear does not make a pony any more than a coat of red paint makes you a sports car, it's still fun to have. The problem is, pony tack is universally very, very expensive. For those of us who don't play often or socially, or who don't have a lot of expendable cash, it can be very hard to build a wardrobe. But the holidays are just about here, and now's as good a time as any to start shopping for gear!

This stuff is GREAT for the building blocks of a work pony outfit; their latex is thin but very good quality and strong enough to offer a protective 'second skin', off which you can layer harnesses, cuffs, etc. as needed.

The prices are competitive with Stockroom and most items have been modeled by Autumn, the site owner herself, so you can see what they look like out of the manufacturer's best-face-forward photo shoots (although Autumn is still professionally photographed). Bit gags and 'trainer harness' styles are fabulous for ponyplay and she sells them in several different colors and styles. SUMMARY Located in Canada, the Church of Sinvention carries a wide variety of toys along with a small ponyplay section. Not all of their pony stuff is on sale, but a great portion of their site is currently on HUGE sales and they'll probably bring some more stuff down on Monday as well. They also carry VetRap brand bandages, which are made for bio-equines but are equally suitable for bondage play and decorating human ponies. If you plan on doing any work, it can also help provide support to the legs just as compression tights might, and can be used to brighten up and individualize otherwise-monotone traditional black tack. It's cheaper on Amazon or from bio-equine tack shops, but if you feel more comfortable buying from a toy site, they sell the high-quality stuff, and the price isn't that much higher.

SUMMARY Dover is based in the US and is a national chain of tack shops that are my absolute favorite, both as a kinkster and as a bio-equestrian. I was just there yesterday and their current sales are FABULOUS. Check to see if a physical store is located near you; they're all over the USA. This is where you want to go to pick up brushes (hard and soft!), pony shampoo, fly spray (for outdoor events, this is a must!!), standing wraps, VetRap, and good, high quality leather pieces of real horse tack that can be perverted into ponyplay use - for instance, bell boots, reins, and real metal or plastic flavored bits (which should always be wrapped with VetRap to protect fragile human teeth!) along with many more. This is Disneyland for ponies. For those of us who love ponies but don't identify as such, it's also a great resource for equine-themed clothing, show gear (be warned, it's all English/Hunter style!) such as paddock boots, tall boots, gloves, crops/jumping bats, breeches, etc. There's also a huge section full of knick-knacks, toys, collectibles, house decorations, and other gifts which makes them a fabulous option for Christmas shopping for that special pony or groom in your life.
