We now have a shiny new Fetlife page, just for us!
If you're a suiter, artist, art enthusiast, or just about any other type of FA user, and you like ponyplay, feel free to shuffle on over to the Fetlife group so we can show you off!
Although our group here is great, obviously FA has some limitations as far as community-driven groups go. If you guys want to talk to one another, you're essentially limited to journal notification, shouts, and the note system. Although these options are great for one-on-one communication, I'm sure some of you guys are just chomping at the bit for some actual discussion opportunity!
Although the IRC group is always up, we understand that not everyone is willing to install a separate (and admittedly outdated) chat program in order to use it. There's also the problem of idle time being quite frustrating since we are a small community.
Fetlife offers us the opportunity to have more of a forum-based community instead! You do have to create an account to post there, but the good news is that it's free to use and very easy to keep private.
Don't worry - Fetlife, like FA, is NOT a dating site, but is primarily a social network to be used sort of like a kinky myspace or facebook. You can fill out your own profile, post images, etc. and get together with others on your own posts, plus it makes it really easy to actually get to know people and join up at events. (We WILL be posting con get-togethers starting in late 2015 for Dallas, at the very least, but you can advertise for your own meetups there year-round if you'd like!)
Lastly, I know that due to recent updates, a lot of people are leaving FA. Although this group will definitely not be leaving and I only plan to be MORE active with time, I respect and understand the personal decisions that have been made regarding the IMVU merger. The Fetlife group offers those of you who want to leave a way to still interact with the community without using FurAffinity.

like it would be an advantage?
I dont know how others think about this part - please tell me your opinion - but for me it would be nice to have an place where i could find others with similar interests for meetings in real life.
But ponyplay doesn't have to be focused on those things, nor is it reliant upon or even necessarily inclusive of them! Fetlife IS available to be used that way, though. There's tons of localized groups, munches, etc. going on that you can learn about through the site and then attend.
Basically, Fetlife is usable as a RL social gathering directory, it's just not set up as a dating site. IE, you can't search for single people in your age/kink/body type demographic to seek out for meetups. You'd have to meet more organically than that.
I also tried the IRC chat but eh...
I deinstalled IRC today. I really did not like the people there. xD
