Jero is a young squirrel of diminutive stature, standing all of twelve deci, three centi tall. Starting at the top are his expressive ears. They are chocolate tipped, but otherwise russet red on the exterior, inside there is a light dusting of cream coloured fur with pink skin. Both flank a relatively simple hairstyle of a eleven centi long, five centi wide sandy brown, wavily tossled mohawk. Nestled down on either side are a pair of small pink bulbs on russet furred stalks, some kind of antennae that usually hide in his hair, retracted.

The forelock of his mohawk hangs down between a mismatched pair of eyes, the left a serene forest green, the right a calm titanium grey. (Inset toward his nose are a often tightly shut secondary pair of irises, which function as a sort of macro-lens.) Around his eyes, his jaw, muzzle, cheeks & throat are again cream colour, the exceptions being his dark chocolate nose, & pink lips. Resting along his snout are a pair of HUD specs, sitting in reading glasses position, conducting sound through his skull. (A microphone in the bridge transmits his voice.)

His throat ends in the crewneck of his t-shirt. It varies from day to day, but generally is black or another dark colour with some manner of graphic. They vary from the referential, to the scientific, to simply humorous. His arms show the definition of someone acquainted with a wide variety of tools & machinery. Coated in soft velveteen russet fur to his hands. His fingers are themselves milk chocolate colored tipped with strong dark chocolate claws. His grip is the same color as his nose & is soft to the touch with a strong van der Waals force.

If not tied around his waist, the 'jacket' of his cobalt blue jumpsuit is sharp. It features a nehru collar with three reflective silver bands indicating his rank as a commander in the venerable StarFreight fleet, with a small diagnol spanner over three four-point stars, making him a supraluminal drive engineer. The flap of his gig-line conceals the fasteners closing it. To either side are a pair of pleated breast pockets, with similar closure flaps.

Sewn to the jumpsuit above the pockets are placards with his surname 'Gauhl' over his left pocket, and 'Chief SL Eng' over the right; in the silver reflective material. A small pen pocket on the exterior of the left breast pocket holds a stylus, mechanical pencil, & a blue pen. Clipped from a retractable tether, to the right pocket flap is his ID tag; with his picture, information, & a chip element for security access. The back of the jumpsuit features the StarFreight logo, as well as his name in the same reflective silver elements as 'J. Gauhl Chief SL Eng'. The sleeves of the 'jacket' end in cuffs that feature three silver rings and the spanner over stars emblem again.

Cinching the waistline of his tailored jumpsuit is a simple black tool belt, laiden with gear. The buckle is a toy-like mechanism for relieving belt-tension when seated, satin finished in black, blue, & bronze. Flowing from a rear flap beneath the belt is his magnificent tail. Extending out sixteen deci, four centi & a third again his shoulder breadth it glistens. All proud red simmering brush with a dip of chocolate at the tip, & striped with cream a third the way from it's base underneath.

On the legs of his jumpsuit are a pair of pleated, high capacity pockets. In one is his tablet computer and its wireless keyboard, the other his PockeTab comunit; connected to his HUD glasses. He also carries charger cords & a zipper wallet. At the bottom his jumpsuit is cuffed tightly around his ankles with little sock showing. He wears shoes fitted to his dexterous toes, making use of his opposable big toes.
