I used to play, but when no one I know was on - I let my subscription lapse. I am currently playing Elite: Dangerous and loving it for all the same reasons I loved EVE Online.

Yea, I got that game to, but sadly the hotel I'm at doesn't seem to like the server, can't connect to Elites, keep getting "Unexpected response from server: BadRequest" every time I try to log in.
But sadly when I did play it, all I really did was delivery missions, cause I don't know how mining works in it, or if you can even store stuff. (Yea, trying to go noncombatant route, thou not sure it'll work for to long.)

And THIS is why people wanted offline mode...

Yeah, I can see that - when your playing Solo Mode - the persistent online need seems a little draconian. I mean, you need to make the market pricing fluctuate - you can do that with a once-a-day update or something. I didn't pre-order it because I was on the fence about the offline mode being stripped out, but ultimately I am a space sim junkie so I bought it. Now I just need something more powerful than an AMD A10-7850k processor with the R7 APU to play it.
