You find a Wild Post in the tall grass...

Look! A rare post from me! Catch it, it's getting away!
Sarcasm aside, I do have something new to post about. I've always considered myself to be a night owl, always feeling more active at night than during the day. And since I've been working from home the past year, my schedule has slipped to be even more nocturnal. I tend to wake up these days around 2-4pm, up all night and in bed around dawn. And to be honest, I'm tired of it. But I haven't been able to change my sleep schedule. Going to bed early simply means I toss and turn, unable to sleep for hours. But due to what I'll call a happy accident, I think I can fix these bad sleeping habits of mine - and hopefully for good.
The 'happy accident' was deciding to pick up an old video game I hadn't played for 4 years: Fallout 3. I started playing two nights ago at around 3am, and when I decided I was done it was...1030am. Ouch! But, my sleep-addled brain realized this may be an excellent opportunity! I just had to wrap my sleep schedule around - stay up later and later each night, until I am awake and fall sleep at the right hours once again. I figured it was worth a try.
Yesterday, I woke at 6pm, and stayed up until 3pm. Today, I woke at midnight and will hopefully stay up until 6pm or later. If this works as expected, in a few days I should be falling asleep near midnight and awake at 8 or 9am. We shall see.

I ended up doing the old trick of staying up through almost 48 hours, and sleeping only at the time I wanted finally, setting a light alarm 40 minutes before my actual alarms. The light trick used to work but from that last nightowling, and sleeping with lights on at first, lights don't wake me up as easy.
As for Fallout, never played those much. I like watching or listening to people play it, but its not my atmosphere.
