This might earn me some enemies, and I am sorry.
This is completely open to debate so feel free to rip my spine out if I piss you off.
I hate when I see an artist open a commission of a character in a pose, and then draw 10 people in the same exact pose, with minor changes to the linework and a recolor..
To me, all art is original, each person deserves a unique picture of their own.
I feel a picture loses a sentimental value, when you and 10 others have that same exact pose.
"Guys look how cute I look with my butt in the air!"
"Oh that's nice, I got the same thing last week it's not that new"
Look, I understand the benefits of it on the artists side, I have seen a few artists do commissions like this to help pay medical bills, or because their pet needed surgery..
But I can't see myself taking part of it, I just can't draw the same two people in the same exact situation.
I'll feel cheap, and feel like I've cheated the commissioner out of something personal and unique.
I'd feel better if I just donated to the cause, and got a cute little doodle of me being silly.
I hold no high expectations of artists I commission, part in reason I've kept the same simple fursona I've had since I actively participated in this community for over 8 freakin years..
Now to defend myself.
I hold no grudge to artists who do these sort of commissions, because like I stated above, I understand the good of it.
I just can't stand how unoriginal it is =c
Most of you guys who do them are incredibly talented, and deserve every single penny they recieve.
But this does not distract from how I lose interest in a picture, when I've seen the same thing done 20 times over with everyone else ._.;
I'm sorry..
This is how I feel.
here is a gun, feel free to blow my brains out =)
Next week, I'll explain why I fucking hate icons that just show the diaper, and make me think that all you care about are fucking diapers, and nothing else that matters in the world of a little..

Besides, the original pose had to be conceived somehow; does having your own unique copy with your character detract from the sentimental value in any way? In the end, it's still something the artist had to create and, to everyone who gets one, it'll still be pretty sweet to get some art of your character because it's less about the pose and more about the fact that your character was just brought to life which, in my opinion, is pretty dang sweet as well.
But yeah I do see where you're coming from. Doing it for the money just makes it feel a little less magical in the whole scheme of things but if the pose is cute then why the heck not get it (possibly at a price cheaper than a regular commission at that level of detail!).
I do my YCHs like that, so that I don't have to make auctions out of them.
A lot of people end up with pictures that look the same, but if I held auctions in which the same people would always throw loads of money into, they would have no pictures at all.
so...
I believe in a middle ground, a YCH should maybe have a limit of 5 slots, so you'll never have more than 5 pieces of art coming from the same base.
I have seen some artists crank out, what seems to be hundreds, of the same pose. I wouldn't feel right doing it, and honestly, I'd probably get bored after a while. But I dont hold it against those who do it at all.
And Don't beat yourself up Kitty. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
But actually my first one of those images was meant to be a ych meant to only be bought once for a single character, and it turned out two people had taken interest in it. So i drew them both in the pose as to not hurt anyone's feelings.
They haven't actually sold well for me, so i don't think I've repeated an image more than 3 times, but i can say they definitely aren't my favorite images in my gallery. I felt cheap and like a con artist when doing them. So i just went back to normal buy it once ych's.
But I do wanna point out that when doing like one off YCHs, the fast one wins and the others don't have a chance to get that, and there can be lots of people who would've loved to have their fursona in that pose.
So with these kinds of YCHs everybody gets a chance to have one.
Not everyone views it that way, of course, and that's completely fine. That said, I'll still totally judge people for getting them, because I'm a raging hypocrite. :D
Anyways I'm getting off topic. Bottom line, I don't like it either.
