I remmeber this game. i played it on the first PC i ever got way back in...1999 or so. I most remember the mothership launch and kharak burning.

The same for me mostly. :) the game was great.

The Thing that annoyed me most in the first homeworld was that your Units do no auto-attack. Unless you give them an order to attack, they just sit there , do nothing except getting blown to bits. But i licked the Story :3

Placing them into aggressive mode they attack automatically, evasive they won't attack unless you tell them to.

i Knew there must have been something like this xD So Long ago, my english wasn't really there yet. As far as RTS goes, i kinda stuck with Supreme Commander all these years.

There was three modes you can set them in, aggressive, neutral and evasive. The ships would attack, but only attack the nearest target in aggressive mode. Aggressive mode was good for when you put bombers in claw formation, they would tear through capital ships. Evasive was good for fighters, as they would break formation and go into pairs of two. Was awesome watching fighter furballs.

The salvage corvettes was the most powerful unit in the game because of how the AI acted. Moving them above to where you knew enemy ships were going to come through, you could have them come down from above and capture when the capital ship came close. If you targeted the capital ship while it was very far away, they would stop what they were doing and attack the salvage corvettes... The last mission my fleet was so big that the opposing fleet stood no chance.

Neat Little trick. Kinda rare that such a capture Units works well.

I definitely like the adding of Modding-Tools for the Homeworld Remastered. So lets see when i can grab it.

Homeworld had gorgeous space battles. A lot more glacially paced than others, so it wasn't as much of a clickfest, which I liked. It'd take a long time for fighters to take down a battlecruiser, but it could happen ... the defender has time to react, always, though if they hadn't made adequate preparations they were a goner.
