Apologies for the lengthy silence, ladies and gents! This group has been kind of quiet for a while. I'm planning to change that, and soon, but I thought for a moment I'd do a little TMI Tuesday here with you ENFers, share a little bit about what appeals about it to me, and see if you guys had any questions or wanted to talk about what appeals about it to you.
For me, it is a genuine fetish with roots going all the way back to when I was a young 'un getting the occasional funny feeling from cartoons. Nudity itself always fascinated me, since I was raised in a prudish household where it was forbidden. And since it was a societal taboo as well, public nudity also had a considerable appeal. But for some reason the icing on the cake was when a character was embarrassed about it, all blushing and shy and red and trying to hide their bodies...an effort which, in any comedy setting, is always doomed to failure.
There's a whole subgenre of erotic fiction on the internet based around the concept. Outside of this little group, ENF usually stands for "Embarrassed Naked Female" (with ENM being the male equivalent). You can find whole archives of niche little sexy stories about it if you know where to look, and there are subgenres even WITHIN that subgenre. Some people prefer the wardrobe malfunction type stories, some lost bets, some prefer magical or science fiction elements. It doesn't matter to me, though; in this fetish I'm more about the destination than the journey. Sometimes there are stories where characters are sneaking around, trying to get to safety, trying to avoid being spotted. Personally, my preferences are much less subtle. I'm more the kind of guy who's like "oh you're going to have to stay naked for at least a week and all of your friends and your parents are going to see you and you're going to be on live TV and oh you're also going to meet the president and oh by the way you have to masturbate in front of all of them too." You know, the simple stuff.
This group is meant to encompass ALL flavors of this silly little fun fetish, from comedic to sexy, from teasing to explicit, from short-term nudity to long-term exposure.

Especially if it involves booty. Because that's the safest yet sexiest thing to reveal.
also nudity is pretty openly enjoyed, so even if a person isn't into ENF as a fetish they can still enjoy the art.
The reason I like it, is that it's all about reactions and expresions which are the core of any character illustration.
-also as a great option for having lewd artwork of characters that aren't engaged/interested in sexual relationships without forcing them to act out of character
You know, despite the universal enjoyment of nudity, I find that there are surprisingly few people who enjoy it for its own sake. At least in my own personal meanderings. Maybe your luck has been better.
I agree, expressions are GREAT. I get really into the emotion of it. I can't get into a picture or story or scenario or whatever that I can't feel any emotional resonance with.
I find ENF works better when the situation is accidental or caused by innocent misunderstandings, characters being too malicious or cruel to others I find darkens the story/picture to much and makes it less fun
Of course I do love the accidental stuff as well...magical mishaps are particularly fun.
intentional stuff is nice for veriety(and if you don't want to throw physics and plausibility completely out the window)
intentional enf I think works best if the victim at least somewhat has it coming to them(like they've pranked others)

Haha, I have no problem throwing physics and plausibility out the window! I can get behind almost any excuse for this fetish, my suspension of disbelief is REALLY high for this for some odd reason. And yeah, it is rather satisfying when it's coming to a "deserving" party. For me, though, what makes it extra enjoyable is if there's a little part of them that's enjoying the exposure. I like conflicting emotions like that.
It's been this way for as long as I can remember. I started having "exciting thoughts" about self-conscious naked people at a very early age. I never acted on them (I was a well-behaved kid) but they were fun to imagine. To be honest, I'm really not sure why this stuff appeals to me so much! I can say that it's probably not a reaction to trauma - I didn't grow up in a repressive family, I didn't get bullied or teased too much, and in general I've had a pretty easy life. Beyond that, though, I'm not sure. Maybe it's just because I'm a naturally anxious person, and anxiety suffuses my erotic life just as it suffuses everything else ;)
In any case, it's lots of fun!
