Don't let them get to you, IRC honestly sucks anyways. From the way it is set up to the mods and admins on it. Now, it isn't all of them but i have been there myself and seen it first hand. Never got banned, but I'm not on it enough to give a damn anyway.

If some admins are acting like dicks, you prolly should either contact the head-admin (or file a complaint about those particular admins, something like that (any chat logs available?)), or simply find a different channel.

CS:S d00ds and pretty much all of online gaming are gonna accuse you of hacking and call you gay; that's just the way it works, that's internet, and I've certainly had my share. It's not nice to hear someone shout that to you, but they don't really have the capacity to do much else, so you pretty much have to just dodge it and keep your cool.

Depending on the severity of it, I agree that loudmouths should be given a boot up their asses.
Also, administration + "enough" alcohol? Don't you think that equation might have some... erm... interesting results? (At least the way you put it let's me understand that they are drunk while on administrative duty.) That's prolly not the best environment to be under the influence in, especially w/ admin powers.

As for being drunk while on admin duty. You get ops as soon as you join the channel. I have multiple levels of admins, and honestly in this situation if the admin that was drunk acted out of line, I have others above him that could and would take action.

The fact is as you stated above, Deko started running his mouth. he likes to do this from time to time. He started bashing two of my admins for going against his opinions, one of which wasn't even in channel to defend themselves.

My admin that had been drinking stepped back and didn't act on it, and I commend him for doing so. One of my sober admins told Deko to back off, which he didn't do, and was booted out of channel. A simple kick. No bans. He adhered to the administrative policy of warn, then kick, then ban if needed.

All in all I as the head admin of the channel, believe this whole situation was handled properly. I merely came here to set the record straight as Deko has completely misrepresented what happened last night.

If it went down as you say it did, I honestly can't disagree with you here.

From what it looks like, Deko feels a bit ashamed of what he said. Hopefully that counts for something. Though, there wasn't any way that Deko knew that he wasn't permabanned by what was said to him apparently, so i can understand him being upset. Also, there's also a chance that Deko had gone through some things dealing with drunkards other than IRC admins, which would increase his dislike for people that choose to drink and affect his emotions. I'm not sure how he was bashing this admin, though, so i'm not sure how severe it was.

However, Deko! You do have a mouth on you from what i remember when i used to go on IRC. I think you toned that down some, but it seems it rears its head from time to time, hehe. Try to catch yourself when you may be doing that...probably when people start getting annoyed with you you need to step back and analyze what you're saying. If you have to make a point about something that happened a long time ago, make sure your point is valid before assuming the worst...i am kinda the pot calling the kettle black though, as i do the same thing regularly. x-x

If you have problems outside of irc, keep them outside. I'm not the best on this but I sure as hell don't start slamming others because if my own irl problems. The most I'll let cross over is when I'm having a bad day, mostly over my fathers recent passing, and just want support from my friends.

And yes, Deko is rather opinionated, which is what got him in trouble yet again.

...My explanation to his behavior was hypothetical, as i was trying to get you to think why one would act that way with someone that drinks and be more understanding of things instead of just believing Deko's a dick without cause. But it looks like you feel that any past trauma should not affect one's behavior in the present. Obviously whatever happened before with the past drunk admins (or other individuals, hypothetically) left a scar on Deko big enough to be wary of something similar happening again. his actions may have not been correct, but hopefully you can understand why he had such strong feelings.

I was indeed being snarky, but not at you. All he had to do is rejoin the channel, not to mention most clients are set to auto rejoin after being kicked, to which im guessing deko shut off.

I do understand your point on this, but its been an age old rule of our channel to keep outside drama, outside. If he really took such offence to one of my admins drinking while being in channel and opped (able to kick, ban, etc) he should not have gone on a bashing tirade on him in channel and against someone else that wasnt there to defend themselves, past scars or not. He should have taken note, and contacted a higher admin privately, like myself.
