Yeah... my last GM was plagued by electrical problems ( side mounted battery cables coming loose) the last insult, GM Anti-theft module fried... cost to repair, almost 2k. Car was a '96 Buick LeSabre with less than 107,000 miles.... that was it for me. I'm now happy with a '07 PT Cruiser convertible. Research your car first as far as reliability!!! Good Luck!

What's really annoying is GM's attitude: I used an outside mechanic to replace to first one so it's not their problem. They rebuilt the one that failed so I'm thinking it is.

PT Cruisers are very popular but they are bigger than what I prefer to drive. There is only one of me so I prefer a nice coup.

Mine is not a sedan but the convertible coupe.... and it's not that big, and very comfortable to get in and out. It's also very roomy inside both front and back seat. I would also recommend a Toyota Celica... not the last one, but the previous 2 body styles. I had a '93 ST coupe... it was automatic, fun to drive and reliable. In the 2 plus years I owned it, had only put a pair of newer tires up front and replaced all the burn out bulbs outside (turn signals, running lights). I was planning on spending money to fix her up, repair the ac, get a paint job, but a friend tol me about the PT Cruiser at a dealership, an once I put the top down and drove it... I was hooked. Good luck!!! Also... I prefer vintage GM, prior to say 1977... when they started downsizing and sharing more bodies with their different brands.

P.S. The Celica was getting up to 34 mpg on the highway... and it had over 175,000 miles when I traded it in. I took it down to Key West at least 3 times... and I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area.

My first car was a '76 Celica. Got it in '79 and finally replaced it in '94.

I was going to add, the Celica looked like crap but still ran like a champ. You couldn't beat that little 20R engine with a stick.
