Life Updates
Ha, so it's been about a year since I've made one of these. Not really on this site much anymore, but I'll use it to disseminate a little info anyways.
Okay.
So, today I got a Rated Enrollment Allocation to Field Training. That means a couple of things:
1) I wasn't cut from AFROTC! That in itself is a big step towards commissioning as an officer in the USAF.
2) This summer (I don't know when yet) I'll be going to Field Training at Maxwell/Camp Shelby. This is more or less my basic training; I'll be gone for 28 days getting reamed with the OTS guys BUT when it's over I'll get make my dream sheet. Which brings me to my last point:
3) I got a rated slot, which is exactly what I wanted. With a rated slot I'm applying for four jobs: Pilot, Combat Systems Officer, Remotely Piloted Aircraft, and Air Battle Manager. I'll get to pick which of those I want the most when I get back from Field Training.
Tomorrow I'm taking the Test of Basic Aviation Skills, which will be the last chunk that goes into my "pilot rating" (PCSM). Hopefully I'll kill it and will be set for my rated board next year, which is when I would get my pilot (or whatever) slot.
So that's where I'm at in life. More to follow if anything interesting happens and I'm still around~
