Thinking about doing a art contest (if possible)

This would be my first time doing such a thing and thus I would kindly like some questions answered before I make one I don't draw and more I can't write fanfic like I did back when the original Star Craft came out was last one I wrote. back on topic to the questions. That and i'm honestly curious how people would draw my main character.
1. what would be a good monetary amount to offer for the top 3. I was thinking 100 for the first and 50 each for 2nd and 3rd. would that be to much or to little. I really want to be fair in the rewards though thus why the split for 2nd and third. I could possibly offer more but I would have to ask for patience from the winners. That is a month's worth of income for me <<.
2. How long should it last? I was thinking a month or two is that to long or short give enough time for the artists to make the pic without being rushed with a quick deadline? or would quick deadlines serve as a good thing?
3. If I were to hold one would anyone join in?
4. another member mentioned to me some artists would like there pictures to remain private and I will respect that if they wish. you don't have to post on both sites or any if desire. just note or e-mail me when and if I get help on sorting my questions out.

2. A month minimum, 2 max. I've hosted contests with my partner Sallyhot, and we generally like to give plenty of time to artists to get it done, especially since they likely have their own projects/commissions/work/lives to worry about. You need a deadline though, a contest without one doesn't make sense.
3. Sure! I suck at drawing though, but I'd be willing to plug this contest to give you some publicity.
4. You might have to post submissions if they win. Otherwise there's no proof the winner beat the others. Submissions need to be shown, at least the winners do. But the submitters could just make their names private.

now to the real topic all of this helps and to be honest this idea never got off the ground or had anyone show even the slightest sliver of interest in such a idea till you I wrote this before I had a inkbunny account which I do now so i didn't bring this up there yet. as for setting up one I am extremely excited on getting one going once i'm all set up again. and to be honest if I get enough help and if it proves to be enjoyable and successful I actually had 2 more planned nut....then again with this being my first contest it's more of a trial run and learning things. but....one has to start somewere or they will never learn how to do said thing ever.
so in short I would appreciate any and all help spreading this around when I get a new computer that is and as for number 4 that was my plan along post the top 3 stating there position why they won. and link to there account. now...I really should shut up XD i'm a rambler.
It sucks to hear your PC is busted but it happens :/ Whenever you get things back up and running, give me a PM and we can set up this contest of yours. Team Acorn could even host it if it had to do with more than your own characters in one way or another. Take care ^^
