Post Post FurDU Report Report
Having had a night to recover from returning from the con, I can now sum up my experience.
We arrived on early Thursday morning and learned two things:
1- You can't get pre flight beverages before 7 AM
2- Late Morning/Early Afternoon flights are much preferred when you haven't slept much, because trying to kill 5 hours on the Gold Coast on no sleep sucks.
Having learnt those valuable lessons, Day 0 was officially on at 1:13 PM when our room became free to check into. Much flopping onto beds happened.
flarethedragon kept telling me to head up to room 2003 (which I then learned wasn't his) but I'm glad that I ended up going along for an hour or so because it was a really good time hanging out and having a bev or two with people I don't usually get to hang out with before balls out exhaustion took over and I had to bail.
Friday was an early start, and a real shame because the weather was absolutely pants. I spent most of the day in the con space taking selfies with everyone. Friday night I got to hang out with
ozkangaroo which was really nice. We'd probably be good friends if we lived in the same state. I hit the dance for a bit before another room party (which I can confirm *did* get busted up)
Saturday morning was poker time. I did alright once all the bingo players eliminated themselves, and I'm happy enough with top 16. Fortunately the weather had turned good by then, so the fursuit walk went ahead as planned and that meant more selfies! Saturday night was room party time again, and luckily this one didn't get broken up by security. Late night McDonalds capped off the evening, where we got to watch a woman in hysterics.
Sunday was a late start for me and pretty chill for the whole day. I hit the dance pretty early on, but it was kinda arse because nobody was there. I came down again at the end and it was much better.
Overall FurDU put in another really solid showing yet again. See you all next year.
