Still Considering Patreon
I didn't receive any feedback last time I talked about this, so another post!
I've given this some more thought and I have a pretty solid idea now. If I were to start a Patreon account, I could hold a monthly vote on which of my characters is used, or in which situation, and higher pledges would get more votes. This would just be a thing to help me afford commissions, though. Does that seen like an okay idea or should I as a commissioner not have a Patreon?

I still don't think that it would be a very successful idea, unless you have an uber popular character, and even then most patrons would only give money for the chance to get art of their character with yours for free. It's like how I see a lot of fanfiction writers asking for donations, but barely anyone ever gives them money because what would be the point of paying someone to do something that they're already doing for free? To a lot of people, it just sounds like someone asking for a handout to be able to afford doing something that that person enjoys doing anyway. I've thought about doing it myself, but it just ended up seeming too self-centered for a patreon. I mean, you could certainly try it, I just don't think that a lot of people would sign up unless the perks were something really amazing.

That's the thing, I can't think of any real perks beyond letting people vote for which character, or offering patrons get first dibs on any future free ych I do.
