Amazing industrial/historical photo

The Pittsburgh paper has a story today about auction of a folio of very old photos "made with a view camera and glass plate negatives" from inside the legendary Homestead Works (look that one up if you don't know its substantial significance!).

Mesta Machine, "the world's largest steel mill machinery builder under one roof" was right next door! (But they weren't founded until 1898, 5 years after the press pictured was built).
Who knows, perhaps that press was what inspired Mesta's founders ;)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're from Pittsburgh...
Hopefully those glass plates being auctioned will end up someplace like the Heinz Museum and be shared...
