"Life on the Other Mountain"

Another day passes, feeling like I'm locked out of my love's life.
Time continues forward and there's no way to change the past.
Over trusting my wishes and dreams when they don't come true seem to just cause more pain, but if I keep trying... if I keep believing, maybe someday those wishes and dreams will come true.
Everyday I see time moving forward and new things happening for my love. I want to smile and cheer her on, but the valley between us is clouded by a mist and I can't trust myself to climb down my mountain to get to hers. The mist hurt the last time I tried... She put up a sign a long while back... "Poisonous fog, do not cross".. but I tried anyways... why would someone ever make two lovers go to two separate mountains with this fog between them...
I try again, and it hurts to hold my breath so I take a breath and give it a shot...
Something in the fog throws me back up the mountain into my bed.. tears leaking from my eyes when I find that I can't make it across all because of the damned fog...
I wish a really strong breeze would blow the fog away so that I can find a way to cross to her mountain and finally be by her side.
