Long periods of sitting is bad for your health. (vid)
For all you artists, gamers and other sitting people out there... This might be worthwile looking at.
To summarise the vid in short... Our body is made for walking and movement and sitting for long periods throughout the day can cause short and long term issues on your body.
In short your brain receives less oxygen because people often sit in a curved posture that lessens the maximum lung capicity. Also your legs can feel numb after a while and you can receive back issues. In the long run all of this can even have serious negative effects on our health, for example our heart, liver and more sensitive to diabetis.

I myself have now piled up boxes on my desk so my tablet is almost the same height as my face while my laptop (keyboard xD) and mouse are now at elbow height. This allows me to stand while working and i use the back of my chair as a way to lean against, instead of sitting on it.

Also if you do NOTHING but sit you can potentially develop a blood clot in your leg that can be deadly. It's a good idea to get up and walk around for a few minutes every half hour or so in order to keep blood circulating.

This is also true. It's highly suggested to go for a small walk every half hour or so if you're sitting a lot. There are also specific stretching exercises you can do to help the blood flow but i can imagen it becoming annoying if you have to do it every so often. So that's why i'm trying to work while standing... it's not easy but i hope i'll get used to it.

Working while standing WILL be difficult for a while at first. You have to give it about a week or two of doing it before you get used to it.

True, it will be a testing week but just like sports your body will adjust properly... Also because of the fact that our body was made for walking and jogging in the first place xD

:x Aye our bodies weren't meant for the sedentary life we lead now :p Though I have heard also that running and sprinting can also be bad for you D: It feels like our own bodies can be our greatest enemies :p
