"Gamer" is a really weird designation these days, since video games have become such an ubiquitous part of American culture. It kind of made sense as a fandom marker back in the old days when it was a relatively obscure hobby for kids and nerds, but now that EVERYONE plays games, being a "gamer" makes about as much sense as identifying yourself as a "television watcher." That said, I generally think of those people who self-identify as "gamers," people who think that a universal hobby somehow still qualifies as an underground lifestyle. So basically 20 something dude bros who read CAD and think OH MAN THAT'S SO TRUE.
Oh I don't really hate them, I'm just completely uninterested in them. I used to enjoy the old Sierra/LucasArts point-and-click games back when I was a kid, but I haven't played anything since 2000. They're just time-wasters. Which is fine if you like them, but I don't care for them.
Also, I know you hate video games, but I know you were the secret head designer of Fat Princess.
That 30s cartoon aesthetic is SO good, though...
and my SJW mocking quota has been met for this week.
What is your definition of "gamer" by the way?

I'm sold.
(I'm genuinely curious, I study them academically so your opinion would be interesting to me)
