After almost a month of seeing my Golden Retriever going from bad to worse I finally had to let her go today. It took awhile for me to stop being in denial and see it for what it was. She stopped eating after monday and every breath was a struggle. Also she had trouble sleeping and drank lots of water.

She used to greet me everyday at the door with a toy or blanket. But it had been awhile since she had done that. Also she used to watch TV on the couch but she ended up never leaving her kennel. My soul feels ripped out and the joy is sucked out of my life. It came on so fast I had little time to prepare. I was really expecting my dog to be around two more years.

So, I just wanted to say some things and try to explain what a great companion she had been these last 12 years. I will miss her greatly and she will be forever in my heart.
