if Fisk, or anybody, don't like something, and feel urge to express it verbally in a journal - which are often overlooked or ignored - it means that it is more than just a annoyment

I believe that it is the anonimity that the internet provides most people that keeps them from fearing the consequences of their actions.
The common thought is thus: "eh, there's no way they'll track it down to exactly where i am, so why not?"

of course, there's also the type of person who doesn't have a good day until someone else gets pissed off by them, either directly or indirectly.

I disagree on the anonymity thing. People are jerks on Facebook, yet most of them are posting under their real name. However, I'll agree about a lack of fear of consequences driving much of it. We glean information from a conversation from a person's body language, tone and words, in that order. Since most interaction online denies us the first two, we have to use the third, which doesn't quite offer the same filters as a face-to-face talk would, nor even a simple phone call. And I think it's safe to say that we all tend to "fill in the gaps" when we're left without the vital information our brains expect.

Or did you imagine all this text spoken in a monotone voice by an anthropomorphic animal robot with no expression? =P

Still, anonymity can't help the problem much, especially if they're thinking along the lines you suggested (and in some cases, they're probably right). I just wanted to point out that it may not be the core reason that it happens. Doubtful those people would say such things in a public space. And if they could? All the more reason to block them altogether.

As for the trolls? All you can do is block them and let them starve to death.

When I used to draw mostly nsfw stuff people were thinking they could leave creepy comments on anything. I once got a guy tell me he jacked off to my cosplay.

Honestly, it can go both ways. Some artists (looking at you, ruaidri) really like creepy-ass comments. Some artists don't like creepy comments. But yes, on a general/mature work, I personally dislike creepy comments. Not gonna stop anyone, the servers are hosted where people enjoy the right to free speech. But yes. If it's an adult piece, check whether the artist appreciates creepy comments, and if general/mature, I don't want to know how sticky your right hand is.

The fact there's a "group" on here that welcomes/encourages "creepy comments" doesn't help things any. Because, you know, people who're already lacking basic social tact and common sense really NEED encouragement. u.u

I think too many FA users forget the fact there are underaged users here too. It's bad enough I have to worry about them bypassing the age restrictions on adult/mature art and browsing the majority of my gallery, but they really shouldn't have to read the perverse tripe comments that the murrypurry types will leave on perfectly innocent pics to boot. -_-

It's really pathetic how out of touch with what's socially acceptable some furries are.

I actually got blocked by an artist after arguing that -- shockingly -- a see-through laced bra with the words 'kiss me' smeared across her breasts should not have been rated general audience.

I also wonder about FA icons because they aren't rated and viewable by everyone, yet some of them I wouldn't consider a general audience submission

*facpalms* Seriously... It's one thing to leave that kind of comment with an artist you happen to be very good friends with, but even then, those kind of comments are best put in notes, not comments. Some people just can't seem to use the correct part of their body for thinking. No artist should have to put up with this bull dust. I know some have turned off commenting now because of those kind of crude remarks.

Icons are required to be rated "General" according to the TOS so yeah. Then again any 13 year old on the internet has seen far worse.

It confirms my opinion that most people who comment on the internet are lacking in boundaries, both internal and external. Internal boundaries are the filters you put between your own thoughts and the world. External boundaries are the wall you put up between the offensive things in life and your self. FA is not the only place this happens. Ice seen similar things happen on internet sites that do not allow adult content. If you have a lewd joke or pun, that's TRUELY funny, you can PM somebody. Otherwise, TMI!

It really is a bit of a mood killer when you post something thinking, "Check it out, here is my character existing in the world, isn't it kinda sweet?" and then it gets taken away from that intended feeling entirely by a superbly lewd comment.

Yup, it was somehow surprising when I uploaded an animation to YOUTUBE a clean animation as a final piece for my uni course, and yet i had to disable comments as i was getting the lewd talk from people sneaking from FA.

Good because they were trying to get people to make people do exactly what the group is all about. They had contests to "force" creepy comments and the such. Other then the icon they werent really doing anything to "improve" no creepy comments.

This, sir, is why we need the ability to +Fav journals.

I hardly ever make suggestive comments and when I do it's on the pages of people I know are absolutely OK with it. Even then It's rare. I think it's stupid for people to do so everywhere because there are a lot of underage kids who use this site and you never know when someone's parent or guardian is going to walk in on them and catch little timmy or sally fox yapping about yiff with Jobber McDumbfuck who has to tell everyone he talks to just how much he does whichever with whatever.

I make those comments myself, but masturbating? nah-uh, tha Big Dogg ain't like that. I make em sound funny or add alil joke or flavor into what I say so it doesn't sound like se at all. I always credit tha hard work you and these other artists do too'cause I know how hard it is to do something great like an art piece. I know there is a thing called "freedom of speech" but there is also this huge thing called "inner thoughts" as well. And if one has them let them stay there, heck I think I need to go tell this to someone right now, unless I scared them off already lol.
